May 4th is a worldwide phenomenon, International Drone Day! A day dedicated to bring awareness and education to our local communities about the drone/UAV industry. This was my first year participating, and I was fortunate to be asked to represent Women Who Drone. Hosted by the Sierra Verde STEAM Academy in Glendale, AZ, where they have their own girls STEAM group called the Moxie Girls, the event included drone demos, talks and presentations by local first responders, and other local UAV professionals.
Even though I was presenting and talking about Women Who Drone, it was a pleasure to see the turnout and insightful questions the kids asked about this emerging technology. To see their eyes light up when they learn of all the industries drones are used in today, was a delight. From just today, I can tell, the future is bright with these Moxie Girls!
